Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth

Mission:
"The Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth provides a supportive home- away- from home for families of children receiving medical treatment in area hospitals."

History:
The first Ronald McDonald house was established in Philadelphia in 1974. Since then, many houses around the globe have been opened, including the Fort Worth location, which was founded in 1981. The Fort Worth House is located near Cook Children's hospital, and has expanded over time to accommodate 58 families.

Volunteer Opportunities:
The Ronald McDonald house has a great need for teen volunteers to help it in a variety of areas. Some examples of service that teens can provide for the House include helping to watch kids in the house during a special weekend program, helping to upkeep the house, and attending House Events such as the annual Boo Bash and Christmas in July celebrations. Teen Volunteers may also become involved in the house's hot meal program "Meals from the Heart".

In kind donations are accepted throughout the year, and the House's wish list can be located at their website.

Pop tabs from aluminum cans be donated. These are recycled and earn money which goes directly to support the House. These can be donated at any time.

For more information on any one of these programs, visit www.rmhfw.org.
